The space saving angle for people in flats and rented rooms

Lumo™ makes projectors for homes that don't have room for a home cinema. Ours is small enough to live on a nightstand, light enough to carry into the garden, and sharp enough at 1080p to fill a bare wall. When you're done, it goes back on the shelf.

    Not just for film night

Most projectors come out of the cupboard twice a year. This one stays out, because it earns its spot.

Mornings it throws a workout video onto the bedroom wall, big enough to follow from the floor. Afternoons it turns the living room into a second screen — a match, a recipe, a video call at a size you can actually see from the sofa. Evenings, tilt it up and watch something from flat on your back, then leave the ambient light on after it ends because the room looks better with it.

Full HD at up to 100 inches, a bracket that points at any wall or ceiling and holds the angle, and light enough to carry between rooms one-handed. Nothing to mount, nothing to reconfigure.

It works best once the light drops — 300 lumens is built for evenings and shaded rooms, not bright afternoon sun.

    • Bedroom setup took five minutes

Mounted it on the nightstand, tilted it up at the ceiling, done. The bracket holds whatever angle you put it at, which I wasn't expecting at this price. Watching from bed without craning my neck is the whole reason I bought it.

      Daniel M.

    • Replaced a TV I never got around to buying

Moved into a flat with no room for a screen. This sits on a shelf and gives me a hundred inches when I want it and nothing when I don't.

      Elana V.

    • Great picture, but close the curtains

1080p is genuinely sharp and I can read text fine at about 80 inches. You do need a properly dark room though. At dusk with lights on it washes out. Once I understood that it's been excellent. specially for my office.

      Adam W.

    • Solid build, nicer than expected

The finish is matte and doesn't collect fingerprints, and the fabric wrap feels like something more expensive. Docking a star only because I'd like a longer HDMI cable in the box.

      Jhon B.

    • The mood light is the sleeper feature

Bought it for movies, ended up leaving the ambient light on most evenings even when I'm not projecting. It throws a soft glow that makes the room feel finished. Sounds like a gimmick in the listing. It isn't.

      Sarah J.

    • Ceiling projection is the best use

Angle it straight up and you're watching from flat on your back. Best thing I've done for falling asleep to something. The bracket locks well enough that it doesn't creep during a film.

      Parker M.

    • Good for what it is, know what it is

Genuinely portable, genuinely sharp, genuinely not a home cinema projector. 300 lumens is a dark-room number. If you go in expecting a bright living room during the day you'll be disappointed. For night use in a bedroom it's great.

      Matt R.

    • Small enough that it actually gets used

I had a bigger projector that lived in a cupboard because setup was a chore. This one stays out and gets used three or four nights a week. Size mattered more than I thought.

      FAQ

      check_box

      What's in the box?

The projector, power adapter, remote control, HDMI cable, and user manual.

      check_box

What can I connect to it?

It has an HDMI input, and a cable is included in the box. That covers streaming sticks, laptops, games consoles, and set-top boxes. Plug in whatever you'd normally plug into a TV.

      check_box

Can it project onto the ceiling?

Yes, and it's one of the more popular ways to use it. The body tilts and swivels inside its loop bracket and holds whatever angle you set, so you can point it straight up from a nightstand and watch from bed. It works the same way for high wall mounts or off-centre placement.

      check_box

How big can the picture get?

Up to 100 inches. The size depends on how far back you place it — the further from the wall, the larger the image. Most people land somewhere between 60 and 100 inches in a normal room, and 1080p holds detail across that whole range.

      check_box

Will it work in a bright room?

It's built for dark and dimly lit rooms. At 300 lumens you'll get a sharp, bright picture at night, in a room with the curtains drawn, or outdoors after dusk. In direct daylight the image will wash out. If you mostly watch in the evening, it's a good fit; if you want a daytime living-room screen, you'd want a higher-lumen projector.
